JJA Sports, LLC was part of an SMMA/Caputo & Wick/JJA Sports design team, providing athletic facility planning and design for Anderson Stadium at Providence College. Anderson Stadium, tennis deck and Chapey Field are home to the Friars’ Division I soccer and men’s lacrosse teams, as well as the women’s tennis program. The project is a key cornerstone in the Strategic Plan toward the College realizing its vision as Providence College approaches its 2017 centennial.
The project included development a concrete bowl horseshoe stadium designed to accommodate 1,800 fixed seats and 700 end zone sloped synthetic turf lawn seats, a multipurpose synthetic turf competition field, and a two-level parking deck topped with a six court tennis venue. An elevated concourse linking the campus core to Schneider Arena, home of the Men’s NCAA 2015 Hockey Champions. Chapey Field was set at the arena entrance level to serve a green front lawn for the arena.
