Concord Emerson Park

Tennis and Basketball Courts Renovation Project

THE DETAILS

JJA Sports provided sports facility and civil engineering design services for the complete replacement to the basketball and tennis courts at Emerson Park in Concord, Massachusetts. The need for the renovation was due to a combination of overall poor condition, and sideline safety space and accessibility not meeting current rules and standards.  The project required full depth court reconstruction.

Emerson Park, originally laid out in 1926, is named after Ralph Waldo Emerson, and is the only Concord historic park with an active sports and recreation program.  In addition to the courts, the park contains the local high school’s running track, baseball and softball fields used by the Town Recreation program and schools. It also includes an outdoor swimming pool, and a children’s playground. This park is a central focus of the Town’s Recreation program and serves as the site for many yearly Town activities.
