Regis College

JJA Sports LLC provided athletics planning, sports facility design and construction phase services for the Regis Athletic Complex at the campus in Weston, Massachusetts. This was part of a design and construction management team which included VHB, Inc. and Richard White and Sons. The effort consisted of developing the full athletic design for the track, multi-purpose synthetic infill turf sports field, women’s softball field and tennis court complex for this multi-sport venue.

The combination of shallow bedrock soils, poor soils and the project schedule created challenges for the project team. The project structure began as a design-build team and evolved into a construction management project to provide the project with schedule efficiency and the Owner with appropriate levels of risk management. The design, permitting and complete construction was accomplished in approximately 10 months with the first game being held in 9 months from start during fall of 2009.
